This text refers to the Passage in the House.
Vote to pass a bill that clarifies the definition of "general contractor" and "subcontractor" in the Texas Labor Code. The bill includes subcontractors under the workers' compensation in regards to the insurance coverage.
-Amends Labor Code to clarify definition of general contractor to mean a person who works for the benefit of another (Sec. 1). -Expands definition of a subcontractor to include person who contracts with a general contractor to perform all or any part of work, or services that general contractor has contracted with another party to perform (Sec. 1).
